The following guide will show you how to rip/convert DVD to AVI format for playback on BlackBerry, Archos, Creative Zen, iriver, XBOX 360, etc and convert DVD to XviD or DivX. In the latter part of this guide, you will also learn how to burn AVI files to DVD for backup, enhancement and playback on home DVD players.
Part 1. How to Rip/Convert DVD to AVI/XviD/DivX?
1. Import DVD movies
Insert the DVD disc into the disc drive, click the "Open DVD" button to import it.
2. Choose the output format
From the drop-down list of "Profile", navigate to the "AVI Video" category. From the sub-category, you can choose the most appropriate output format.

3. Start to encode

Part 2. How to Convert/Burn AVI to DVD, DivX to DVD, XviD to DVD?
To burn AVI to DVD, you will need DVD authoring software. Here, I'd recommend using Photo DVD Burner Professional. Below is the screenshot of this program:
Let's take a look at how it performs:
1. Click "Organize" -> "Add Video Clips..." to import AVI video into the program.
2. Go to the "Choose Menus" tab to choose a DVD menu template. You can also specify background music and background image, set font style, size, color, etc to customize the menu template.
3. Go to the "Burn Disc" tab to start burning videos to DVD.
