Mac OS X is such a powerful machine that you can extract an audio track from a movie with QuickTime Player. There is no need to download any other programs. And it only needs a simple Export setting in QuickTime and you’ll rip the audio track as an .m4a file. Only three steps as the following:
1. Open your video which is compatible with QuickTime Player
2. Pull down the “File” menu and select the “Export”
3. Select the “Audio Only” item in the “Format” drop-down list, and click “Export”
The conversion time will depend on the speed of your Mac and the video size. What’s more, it may work in the Windows version of QuickTime Player as well. The process is much similar to the Mac version.
If your video is incompatible with QuickTime, how could you achieve this purpose? You can convert your video to some format compatible with QuickTime, and then rip the audio track from the converted video with QuickTime. Or you can extract the audio track with some video-to-audio programs. According to my personal experience, the latter solution is much more convenient.
