Windows Movie Maker is a free video editing software installed on a PC using Microsoft Windows OS and it accepts WMV, ASF, MPG (MPEG-1), AVI (DV-AVI), WMA, WAV and MP3.
However , Windows Movie Maker cannot import the AVCHD files directly since most of the AVCHD camcorders support MTS/M2TS files. In order to import MTS/M2TS files from AVCHD camcorder to Windows Movie Maker to edit, format conversion is must.
