How to rip DVD to YouTube FLV video

If you have a DVD with a few fantastic videos and want to upload them to YouTube, you can follow this step by step tutorial about how to rip a DVD movie to short video clips and upload them to YouTube website.

In order to upload DVD movie clips to YouTube, you first need a DVD ripping program to help you extract the video clips from the DVD movie and rip the DVD movie to YouTube friendly video formats like FLV, WMV, AVI, etc. Note: This tutorial only focuses on how to rip DVD movies to FLV format for YouTube video.

The software you need is Clone2Go DVD Ripper.

You can download the latest version from www.clone2go.com for free.

Import the DVD movie

On the main interface of Clone2Go DVD Ripper, click "File -> Open DVD..." to import the DVD disc. Or you can click the "Open DVD" button to add the DVD.

Note: If the DVD movie is saved as a folder on your computer, you need to click the "Add Video" button to locate that folder, which is composed of two separate folders: VIDEO_TS and AUIDO_TS. From the VIDEO_TS folder, select the .vob file to import and then click "OK".

Trim the video

After the DVD movie is imported, you can preview it with the player at the top right panel of the program. If you only want a clip of the DVD video, you can drag the "Start to trim" and "Stop to trim" button to get the certain segment.

You can also specify the "Start Time" and "Stop" at the bottom right panel of the interface (under "Profile").

Choose the profile

Since you are going to upload the output videos to YouTube, you can choose FLV as the output format from the "Profile" drop-down list.

Note: Of course you can choose other formats like AVI, WMV, MP4 as the output format. The uploading time varies according to the specific video format you choose.

Start to encode

Now you can click the "Start Encode" button to starting ripping the DVD movie to YouTube FLV video(s).

Tip: The output video files are easily available by simply clicking the Folder button on the main menu after the ripping/converting process is done.

Step 5. Upload the output video to YouTube

Sign in to YouTube.com with your account and now you can begin to upload the video clips ripped from the DVD movie to YouTube. The steps are very easy.
